Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rose 2015

$309.99

La Grande Dame Rosé 2015 is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of Madame Clicquot, known as ‘la grande dame de la Champagne’ in her time. This cuvée embodies two of her major innovations: the elaboration of the first vintage champagne in 1810 and the creation of the first known blended Champagne Rosé in 1818. Thus, this vintage featuring a blend of 90% of Pinot Noir and 10% of Chardonnay is finished off with 13% Pinot Noir red wine coming from the historical parcel ‘Clos Colin’ located in Bouzy. It showcases Veuve Clicquot’s oenological expertise in crafting and aging blended Champagne Rosé, as well as the selection of a base of Historical Crus : Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Aÿ for Pinot Noir and Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger for Chardonnay.

TASTING NOTES

On the eye: This cuvée has a beautiful salmon pink color and coppery sparkle.

On the nose: Spice notes, such as pepper, nutmeg, and clove, intertwine with the delicate aromas of red fruit, as well as floral hints of rose and violet.

On the palate: After a sharp attack, it is elegant and silky. It's a complex, lively wine, with a pleasing and lasting finish.
